Wonderful news! TAKE YOUR PET TO SCHOOL has been nominated for the 2021 Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award!
Wonderful news! TAKE YOUR PET TO SCHOOL has been nominated for the 2021 Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award! This state award was started in 1982 and allows public, private, and homeschooled students, from kindergarten through third grade to cast a vote for their favorite nominated title. Students are read all 20 nominated picture books, by a librarian, classroom teacher or parent, and participate in literacy activities for each book. The WCCPBA committee meets each spring to select the 20 picture book candidates for the next school year. The committee is comprised of school and public librarians from across the state.I love these state awards because they reflect what kids really think!https://www.wla.org/assets/Book_Award/WCCPBA/WCCPBA%20Press%20Release%202021.pdf0Add a comment

Along with making books I teach picture book illustration at DigiPen and Western Washington. Here is last semester project by the talented MFA student Megan Roberts. I would love someday to offer this class to undergraduates and do continue education series of classes. I love to give back to the industry I love.0Add a comment
